Amazon’s cloud computing division, Amazon Web Services (AWS), is currently experiencing significant demand, with the CEO confirming that infrastructure capacity is largely sold out for the year 2027.
Beyond the 2027 calendar year, the company has also secured a “good chunk” of pre-sold capacity for 2028. Notably, these figures regarding booked capacity do not include Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) services, suggesting that the total demand profile for the company’s data center infrastructure remains robust.
This development highlights the ongoing pressure on hyperscale cloud providers to rapidly expand their data center footprints to meet sustained enterprise demand for cloud resources.
