Singapore-based additive manufacturing specialist Creatz3D has reached a significant milestone in semiconductor supply chain localization, successfully delivering 600 sets of 3D printed alumina lift pins to a major global foundry. The move demonstrates the growing viability of using advanced manufacturing techniques for high-precision industrial components.
These ceramic lift pins are critical components used in chemical vapor deposition (CVD) chambers, a standard process in semiconductor fabrication. By utilizing ceramic additive manufacturing technology provided by 3DCERAM SINTO, Creatz3D was able to produce the parts locally, bypassing the traditional lead times associated with sourcing these specialized components from overseas suppliers.
The parts have officially achieved full production qualification, confirming they meet the rigorous technical standards required for use within the foundry’s CVD systems. The project encompassed the entire manufacturing cycle, including printing and the subsequent debinding processes necessary to achieve the final material properties required for semiconductor chamber environments.
This development underscores a broader trend in the semiconductor industry to secure more resilient and responsive regional supply chains through the integration of local advanced manufacturing capabilities.
