Munich-based footwear startup Sneakprint has officially launched ShoeFactory, a new web-based platform that offers custom-fitted footwear as digital downloads rather than physical products.
The service allows customers to use their smartphones to scan their feet. Once the data is processed, users can adjust a parametric design directly within the web browser. Upon finalizing the design, the platform provides the user with STL files, enabling them to 3D print the footwear themselves.
By providing the design files instead of shipping a finished physical product, the company aims to facilitate a localized, custom-fit footwear production process.
