Fintech company Zen.com has announced an expansion of its payment capabilities through a partnership with Mastercard Open Finance. This integration enables the rollout of “Pay by Bank” services, which are designed to facilitate streamlined transactions for both merchants and consumers.
The service is now active across nine European markets: Germany, Austria, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, Ireland, and Lithuania. The implementation supports two primary functions: merchant payment acceptance and the ability for users to perform digital wallet top-ups directly from their bank accounts.
By utilizing Mastercard Open Finance, the collaboration seeks to provide a broader range of payment experiences within the European digital economy. This expansion targets improved connectivity between bank accounts and digital payment ecosystems, allowing for more direct transaction processing.
