The Singapore Payments Network (SPaN) has officially appointed its Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors. The entity was established as a not-for-profit organization to oversee the governance and administration of the nation’s payment schemes.
SPaN is a collaborative initiative created by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS). By consolidating the oversight of national payment schemes under this dedicated entity, the initiative aims to provide a centralized framework for the management and strategic development of payment infrastructure within the country.
The appointment of the executive leadership and board represents a significant step in the formalization of SPaN’s operational structure, ensuring that the organization is prepared to fulfill its mandate in supporting Singapore’s digital finance ecosystem.
