Telecommunications provider Virgin Media O2 has conducted a demonstration of Starlink’s satellite coverage in a remote region of North Wales. The testing initiative was designed to evaluate how satellite-based connectivity performs when compared to traditional terrestrial network infrastructure.
The trial highlighted the technical challenges and performance differences that satellite systems encounter when operating alongside or serving as an alternative to established terrestrial networks. As connectivity needs persist in rural locations, the industry continues to explore hybrid approaches to bridge coverage gaps.
