A Ukrainian national has been sentenced to 70 months in prison for his role in coordinated ransomware attacks. The individual participated in cyberattacks utilizing both Nefilim and Hive ransomware variants between 2018 and 2021.
During this three-year period, the attacks targeted a range of organizations, including hospitals, various government entities, and high-revenue private businesses across the globe. The sentencing follows the conclusion of legal proceedings concerning the defendant’s specific contributions to these illicit activities.
